Heartbroken

I just can't stop thinking about Annie Le and her fiance, John; my heart breaks for him and I can't help but feel guilty that my wedding day was, hands down, the most brilliant day of my life and his wedding day was, tragically, the worst day of his.

As a recent bride, I can attest to the kinship that exists amongst brides- to - be. Go on Weddingbee.com or any other bridal chat board and you'll see what I am referring to.

Unlike tuning in to a reality television show, where it appears that women are making more "frenemies" than friends these days, most of the bridal chat boards that I visited during the months I spent planning my wedding are brimming with supportive peers eager to offer a suggestion or an ear - whichever is needed. I was overwhelmed by the support these bridal boards offered virtual unknowns. Brides bond with other brides in a way that I have never encountered amongst women which is why, I suppose, Annie Le's tragic death resonates with me.

To know that someone was planning for the same moment of joy that I just experienced and will never achieve it, makes me wonder exactly what is La Pointe of It All?
