Knowing that your best friend -
the one you met when the two of
you were the age that her daughter is now -
has made it through not one, not two,
but three infancies alive (and now has three
happy, healthy, loving school age
children and an intact marriage, sense
of humor, and good hair to boot)
makes the prognosis of getting
through one (and possibly still having
some skin left on your fingers)
a heck of a lot more optimistic.
Infancy is survivable. Someday you'll miss this. I promise!
ReplyDeleteI agree that infancy is survivable, but I disagree that you will miss it. Some of us are just made to "mother" older kids. Perhaps you and I are in the same club there...
ReplyDeletewithout infancy, you would not have the same bond with your child. change the diapers, make the bottles, let the cries come and go...and you will grow closer and closer to her. closer than with any other person in the world. literally the world. seems impossible.
ReplyDeleteAwwww...you are doing a GREAT job - she is a happy, healthy, sweet-tempered girlie! That being said...whenever you tire of her just drop her off in Turbotville - now that you've done all the heavy lifting I'd be happy to take her off your hands! oxoxox
